History
26.09. Established in 2011, Safranbolu Tourism Faculty started its educational activities in the 2013-2014 academic year. There are 4 departments within the Faculty: Tourism Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Tourist Guidance and Recreation Management. The faculty gave its first graduates in 2018. There are adequate classrooms, a computer laboratory, a library, a reading room, a cafeteria to meet the food and beverage needs of the students, and canteen services to meet their social needs in the faculty. The Recreation Management department started education with 14 students in the 2021-2022 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
When the program is successfully completed and the program qualifications are met, a Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management is obtained.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from this program, students must; They are required to obtain a minimum of C/G grade from all courses determined in the curriculum, to be successful in a minimum of 186 local/240 ECTS credits, to have a GPA of at least 2.50 out of 4.00 and to successfully complete their compulsory internship.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who will graduate from this program have employment opportunities in entertainment services departments operating within accommodation enterprises, independent recreation enterprises organizations, and all units related to the field in the tourism sector. Entrepreneurial students can open and run their own organizational businesses. It is also possible for the graduates of the department to pursue an academic career.
