About Programme

Aims: The aim of the programme is to train qualified personnel in Architectural Restoration field and meet the employee needs of related sectors and public. Objectives: The educational objective of the programme is to train individuals in Architectural Restoration field and gain professional competences in restoration field and gain abilities making practices and restoration projects in public or private sectors by equipping international point of view.

History
The programme of Architectural Restoration is a 2-two year undergraduate Associate’s Degree programme, which was founded in 1992 under the Vocational School of Higher Education and received students during the academic year of 1992. Now it has 277 students and 6 full-time academic staff.
Qualification Awarded
The students who successfully complete the programme are awarded Associate’s Degree in Architectural Restoration
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to first cycle degree programmes in or a related field of the study and gain access to these programmes through a centralised, nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı).
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Associate's Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a 30-workday (240 hours) industrial training period,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (60/100) and 120 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of this program are supposed to work as technicians in related public institution and special sectors whose fields are restoration and construction works.
Assessment and Grading
Exam measurement and evaluation procedures are carried out within the scope of Karabük University "Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education-Training and Exam Regulation".
