About Programme

This program aims to train qualified personnel that needed for businesses operating in the textile and apparel industry. It is aimed to train students to be equipped to work in all fields of design, planning and production.

History
The Fashion Design Program was founded in 2017 and admitted first students in 2020.
Qualification Awarded
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Admission Requirements
Within the framework of the rules set by the Higher Education Institution (YÖK), entrance to this program is made by the University Entrance Exam held at national level by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). After the students' academic program preference applications, the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM) places students in the preferred departments in line with the score they have obtained from the university entrance exam.

Registration of foreign student to this program can be made after the evaluation of direct applications to Karabük University.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to first cycle degree programmes in or a related field of the study and gain access to these programmes through a centralised, nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı).
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from this program, students:
• Weighted Grade Point Average (AGNO) should not be less than 60 out of 100.
• Must complete 30 working days training internship.
• Must have 120 ECTS credits and at least 64 local credits.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Fashion design technicians who graduate from the Fashion Design Program can work as designers in the design, product development, R&D, collection preparation, model room and planning departments of public and private sector textile enterprises. Also, there are employment opportunities in design studios, fashion houses and clothing stores.
Assessment and Grading
Exam measurement and evaluation procedures are carried out within the scope of Karabük University "Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education-Training and Exam Regulation".
