History
Our vocational school of higher education, located in World Heritage City of Safranbolu which holds the best examples of the Ottoman architecture, was established on 05.01.1992 on a building which belonged to Safranbolu Municipality. In its early days, our school served as a part of Hacettepe University Zonguldak Engineering Faculty. With the establishment of Zonguldak Karaelmas University on 11.07.1992, our school became a part of it. It was affiliated with Karabuk University, which was established on 29.05.2007 and still operates as a unit of Karabuk University.

Our program started education in 1997 within Safranbolu Vocational High School and still continues to provide education with its three lecturer.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to first cycle degree programmes in or a related field of the study and gain access to these programmes through a centralised, nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı).
Graduation Requirements
For the students in order to qualify associate degree;
- Have be taken all the courses in the curriculum and passed
-To be made 30 working days (240 hours) of internship
- 2.00 / 4.00 (50/100) minimum grade point average and 120 ECTS completed
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Gratuated students can pass direct to related faculties that have 4 years educaton by the DGS exam, also they can work on various positions on sector.
Assessment and Grading
One midterm and a final exam are held for each lesson. Students who do not get a passing grade from the final exam take the final repeat exam. In addition, the lecturer can grade with homework, drawing, project and similar practices. 40% of the midterm exam, 60% of the final or repeat exam is taken and the final grade of that course is found. In order for students, the end-of-term grade must be between 50-59 to pass conditionally and 60 to be passed. At the end of 4 semesters, the general weighted grade point average must be 2.00 or above.
