About Programme
The aim of the department is to create and maintain learning environments for individuals who have acquired the skills and competencies required by vocational qualifications as educators, researchers and practitioners in the field of industrial product design and are creative / innovative, entrepreneurial, self-confident, worthy of professional ethics and social responsibility; to make intellectual contribution to the quality and richness of social and individual life experiences through creative / innovative designs which are products of educational and research activities. The objectives of the department are to create a learning environment in which a person learns and develops himself / herself and learns to learn beyond the teaching; To make this environment more competent to work together and to be competent than to be a competitor and to work with people from different disciplines; to Balance the academic environment with practical experience environments; to get the design of industrial products is to acquire the multidisciplinary disciplinary learning objectives (knowledge, skills and competencies) at the expected levels at different stages of the education.

History
SFTGSTF Industrial Design Department was opened with the 2005 Undergraduate Program. Students were admitted to the Undergraduate Program for the first time in the 2012-2013 Academic Year.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in industrial Design.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
Industrial Design Undergraduate Program students must fulfill the following graduation requirements in order to receive their Bachelor's degree:
They must pass the credit courses with a letter grade of at least C, and the non-credit courses with at least a letter grade of G.
- They must have completed a course load of 240 ECTS credits in total.
- It is necessary to have successfully fulfilled 3 different internship obligations, each of which is 6 weeks in duration, as specified in the curriculum.
-Students must have passed all the courses required to graduate from this program and have a minimum GPA of 2.00. Students whose average is below -2.00 are required to take courses again from the courses with a CD grade or less in order to raise their average to 2.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
In addition to the targeted business types such as the design of products for different environments, design research and development, industrial product design consultancy, there are increasing types of creative business areas with the rapid change of technology and society. The competencies provided by design education can give the opportunity to work in this variety of jobs. Industrial product design graduates can find jobs in the research and development units of private, public and semi-public organizations, as well as create their own workplaces with their innovative and entrepreneurial features.
