History
Karabük University Faculty of Cummunication was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated 26.09.2016 and numbered 2016/9270, and it was published in the Official Gazette numbered 29875 on 01.11.2016.
Qualification Awarded
When the program is completed successfully and the program qualifications are met, a Bachelor's degree in "Radio, Television and Cinema" is obtained.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
İn order to graduate from Radio, Television and Cinema, the student must provide a minimum of 240 ECTS credits and have a GPA of at least 2.40 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from the Radio Television and Cinema department can work in almost every field of media, Producer, director, copwriter or screenwriter, cinematographer, art director, cameraman, picture chooser, editing operator, presenter, reporter and newseditor in production companies producing for cinema and television, television channels, radios, press organizations and advertising agencies. They can work in many tasks such as. Graduates of the department can also take part in the press units of goverment intitutions and commercial companies, in promotional activities and in all media related fields.
Assessment and Grading
Examinations, measurements and evaluations are made according to the regulations determined by the University Senate. Examinations can be written, oral, both written and oral, homework or practical, face-to-face or online. The weights of midterm studies in determining the success of the exam and final exam can be determined by the instructor giving the course.There is a midterm and a final exam for each course. The evaluation of the course and all kinds of applications in terms of teaching is done on credit. The success grade of a student in a course is determined by the relative evaluation system. Absolute Evaluation in cases where the Relative Evaluation System (BDS) conditions are not metEvaluation is made according to the system (MDS). How the relative evaluation system will be made is determined by the Senate. Exams are evaluated over 100 (hundred) full points.
