History
Karabuk University Faculty of Dentistry was established with the Cabinet Decision dated 07 October 2013 and numbered 2013/5528 and published in the Official Gazette dated 11 November 2013 and numbered 28818
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete all the requirements of the five-year education program are awarded the Dentist Diploma.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the faculty of dentistry, the conditions set in "KARABÜK UNIVERSITY GRADUATE EDUCATION EDUCATION AND EXAM REGULATION" must be met.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Dentists who graduate from the faculty can practice in centers and hospitals providing primary, secondary, and tertiary oral and dental health services belonging to the Ministry of Health, university hospitals, private hospitals, private clinics, and polyclinics. Dentists who want to work in private clinics or polyclinics have the right to establish and operate their clinics or joint polyclinics after graduation. Dentists working in public or private institutions can also work as managers. Dentists who aim for specialization or an academic career can start their doctoral or specialist residency at universities by succeeding in relevant exams. Foreign students graduate from the faculty must meet international diploma equivalence requirements if they want to work in their own country or a third country; those who want to work in healthcare institutions in Türkiye must comply with the Turkish Republic Presidency Legislation Information System "Regulation on Working, Procedures and Principles of Foreign Healthcare Professionals in Private Healthcare Institutions in Türkiye".
