About Programme
1) This program aims to educate managers that are capable of the demands of tourism enterprises in global tourism market; maintain competitive advantage and are eligible in terms of leadership and sustainability

2) To prepare an sustainable education environment with the academicians and the stakeholders and with contemporary program content

3) To conduct case studies that is designed with the participation of the students and that adapt global tourism and development relationship

History
Safranbolu Tourism Faculty was established by Decree No. 2011/2276 dated 26.09.2011 and its establishment was announced in the Official Gazette No. 28094 dated 24.10.2011. Within the scope of the Higher Education Executive Board meeting dated 22.02.2012, it was deemed appropriate to open the Department of Tourism Management / Tourism Management Department within Safranbolu Tourism Faculty in accordance with Article 7/d-2 of Law No. 2547. The Department of Tourism Management accepted its first students in the 2013-2014 academic year and gave its first graduates at the end of the 2017-2018 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor Degree (BA) in Tourism Management
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Bachelor’s Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-an 8-week industrial training period,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of our department may be employed as managers in the front bureau, housekeeping, service, kitchen, bar, purchasing, marketing, and human resources departments of the accommodations; reservation, operations, ticketing, and accounting departments of travel agents; ground services of the airlines; refreshment facilities, and recreation enterprises. They may also be employed in various public institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. If they wish, graduate students can also continue to study Master of Arts and Doctor of Philosophy in the field. Besides, the faculty also offers its students double major and minor programmes and receive dual degree.
