About Programme
The aim of the programme is to train qualified technicians in the railway systems.

The educational objective of the programme is to train students to be qualified technicians in Electric-Electronic Technology in the railway system.

History
Rail Systems Electrical and Electronic Technology Program provides theoretical and practical training needs of the classrooms, smart board,projection equipment. The total area of The Vocational School Campus is 96 000 m². The total closed areas in the school campus is 16 410 m². There are 2 education buildings, 50 classrooms, 2 student residences ( 6 000 m² ),16 staff lodgings, 2 gross football pitches (One with international standarts ), indoor sports hall( 1200 m² )and varius fruit trees which are almost 2000 pine and pine derivatives in the school campus.
Qualification Awarded
The students who successfully complete the programme are awarded Associate’s Degree in Rail Systems Electrical and Electronic Technology.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to first cycle degree programmes in or a related field of the study and gain access to these programmes through a centralised, nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı).
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Associate's Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a 30-workday (240 hours) industrial training period,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 120 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from Railroad Electric and Electronics Technology program, may be employed in organizations and establishments in railway sector such as TCDD, Tülomsaş, Estram, Burulaş, İzmir Metro A.Ş.
Assessment and Grading
Exams; mid-term exam, final exam, excuse exam, single course exam, level test and exemption exam, including six kinds. Exams written, oral, both written and verbal, homework or practical type. Upon the proposal of the departments, the exam program was made by the Dean's Office / School of Higher Education / Vocational School of Higher Education to be announced at the relevant unit web pages and boards at least two weeks before the appropriate images and exams. If there is any activity in a lesson, the content rate of the mid-term grade is calculated as 40%. While the general examination and the decision to do so, the content of the make-up exam grade is calculated as 60%.
