About Programme

Alanında bilgili, kendini yenileme ve ilerleme çabası içinde olan, karşılaştığı zorlukları çözebilen, yaşam boyu öğrenmeyi sürdürme tutum ve becerisini kazanmış, ülkesine ve insanlığa hizmet etmeyi amaçlayan, Tıp biliminin ilerlemesi için çaba gösteren, hastalarına şefkatli, anlayışlı ve sorumlu bir yaklaşım sergileyen, hasta bakımında, çevresel koşullara uygun olarak en üst düzey tıbbi standartları uygulayan, mesleğini kanıta-dayalı tıp yaklaşımıyla ve etik kaygılarla yapan, sağlıkla ilgili yerel, ulusal ve evrensel sorunlara duyarlı, bilgili hekimler yetiştirmektir.

4.    Hasta, hasta yakını ve çevresindeki insanlar ile uygun ve etkin ilişkiler kurabilen,
5.    Ekip çalışmasına önem vererek bir ekibi yönetebilecek ve yönlendirebilecek bilgi ve Becerilere sahip olan,
6.    İyi derecede yabancı dil (İngilizce) bilgisine sahip olan,
7.    Bilimsel araştırma planlayabilen, yürütebilen ve bilimsel doğruları bilen,
8.    Uzmanlık eğitimi ve akademik çalışma yapabilmesi için gerekli olan güncel ve bilimsel ön bilgi ve becerilere sahip olan hekimler yetiştirmek,

History
Karabuk University Faculty of Medicine was established in 2010 and started to recruit students within its faculty in 2016. Our faculty, which will give its first graduates in 2022, continues to serve in the academic field with its developing and growing academic staff, with the number of more than 500 students.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded title of Medical Doctor.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of the programme, students are eligible to apply to Master’s (second cycle) and in some cases, to Doctorate (third cycle) Degree programmes in the same field or in the related fields. For detailed information, please see relevant regulation for graduate study:

Graduation Requirements
The students who study in the programme must fulfil the following graduation requirements to get the Bachelor’s Degree:
• The students must pass all the credited courses with at least a letter grade CC, together with non-credited courses with at least the letter grade CC.
• They must obtain a total of 360 ECTS Credits at the end of the 4-year study.
• They must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 out of 4.00 (60 out of 100).

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of Karabuk University Faculty of Medicine participate in the state compulsory service as general practitioners. Our physicians, who study at our institution as research assistants, are employed as specialist physicians within their fields of expertise.
Assessment and Grading
In the first three semesters of Karabük University Faculty of Medicine, our students participate in committees and take the committee exam at the end of each committee. A final exam is held at the end of the year. Exams are evaluated out of 100 points. While the contribution of the board exams to the year-end passing score is 60%, it is 40% for the final exam. Students are required to get at least 50 points in the final exam. the year-end passing score must be at least 60 points. In the fourth and fifth semesters, students participate in internships. At the end of the internship, the passing score is at least 60 points. On the other hand, senior intern doctors are decided whether to pass the internship they attend, by the responsible faculty members.
