About Programme
Training theologians who objectively learn religion from primary texts, who are equipped to lead the society on moral virtues, and who contribute to the peaceful coexistence of different societies, cultures and outlooks; carrying out scientific studies to ensure the achievement of this objective.

Furthermore, the courses in the programme of Theology are designed to provide the students with advanced Arabic language skills and knowledge of Islamic sciences, together with the ability to make meticulous and unique interpretations of religious texts and to produce written texts of high quality, to develop their critical thinking and analysis abilities. By means of the courses, it is aimed to provide the students with experience in research, to enhance their scholarly horizons, and to bestow on them a variety of skills to conduce to success in their future careers.

History
The Faculty of Theology has its own building since the beginning of the academic year of 2014-2015. The building has sufficient premises for educational purposes (classrooms, computer labs and reading room) and social facilities such as prayer rooms and canteen. The classrooms are equipped with required teaching materials and systems. Most of the classrooms accommodate up to 60 students.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Theology.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
The students studying in this program are required to have a Cumulative Grade Points Average (Cum. GPA) of not less than 2.00/4.00 and have completed all the courses with at least a letter grade of C3/2.00 in the program in order to graduate. The minimum number of ECTS credits required for graduation is 240.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of Theology programme attain various career opportunities as follows: They can choose to be academicians at universities. They can become Arabic instructors at universities. They can work as teachers of Arabic, Qur an or similar religious subjects only at the primary, secondary and high schools affiliated with Ministry of Turkish National Education. They can pursue their careers opting in one of various oppurtunities within the presidency of the religious affairs such as imams, preachers or teachers at Qur anic Courses. They can work in the media, newspaper or television networks, cinema sector, journalism and advertising. They can also find jobs in the areas of tourism (especially in the Hajj and Umrah travel agencies), public relations, international relations, and human resources.
Assessment and Grading
Each semester, students are given at least one mid-term examination and a final exam.
