About Programme
Our goals and objectives are that graduates from the Railway System Engineering Program of Faculty of Engineering at the Karabuk University to be able to successfully represent Turkey in every kinds of environments and : ,
1. Successfully practice Railway System engineering to serve state,regional,national or international industries, government agencies and private sector.
2. Work professionally in one or more of the following areas: Railway system and mechanical system design and manufacture, security, system integration and electronic design automation.
3. Achieve personal and professional success with awareness an commitment to their ethical and social responsibilities, both as individuals and in team environment.
4. Maintain and improve their technical competence through lifelong learning, including entering and succeeding in an advanced degree program such as engineering, science, information systems or business.

Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical (Rail Systems) Engineer
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:

(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.

For International Students:

(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Bachelor’s Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-an 8-week industrial training period,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who have graduated from this department:

1. In the state institutions such as Turkish state highways, Turkish state railways, DSI, MKEK, TULOMSAS, TUVASAS, Metropolitan Municipalities;

2. In the private sector, each institution can be employed as a Mechanical (Railway Systems) Engineer.
