About Programme
The Department of Forestry Engineering, which operates with 10 academic members who are experts in their fields gives training in the fields of Watershed Management, Forest Management, Forest Botany, Forest Revenues and Biometrics, Forestry Policy and Management, Forest Entomology and Conservation, Forest Construction and Cadastre, Forestry Economics, Silviculture, Soil Science and Ecology, Environment and Forestry Law, Forest Roads and Transport.

History
The Forest Engineering Program was founded in 2014 and started to admit students for the first time in 2018.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete this program are entitled to receive a Bachelor of Science in Forestry Engineering.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order for students to be entitled to receive a diploma upon graduation;

• A minimum of 240 ECTS is required to be successful in all courses specified in the curriculum of the program.

• Must have a GPA of 2.0 out of 4.00.

• Must successfully complete their 1st and 2nd internships.

• A dissertation must be prepared and successfully defended.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The field where forestry engineers work intensively is the public sector, and they mostly work in the central and provincial units of the Ministry of Forestry, General Directorate of National Parks and Hunting-Wildlife, General Directorate of Afforestation and Erosion Control and General Directorate of Forestry. In addition, they can take part in landscaping and arrangement of dam basins in the General Directorate of Highways, the Ministry of Environment and the General Directorate of State Hydraulic Works, and in the parks and gardens directorate in municipalities. In addition, they can apply to the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects, Chamber of Forest Engineers (TMMOB OMO) and receive SMM certificate when they complete their internship, examination and education, open their own offices, participate in public and private tenders, and get a job on their own behalf,
Assessment and Grading

Each course has a written mid-term exam. The program of the exams is announced in the first month of a term. A final exam is held in the end of the term for each course. Provided that a valid excuse is declared (for example, health problems), a student can take an excuse examination. The score of a course is calculated with the 40% contribution of the mid-term exam and 60% contribution of the final exam. Students have to attend the classes and exams. The attendance of the students is followed by the lecturer.
