About Programme
Transportation,one of the most important factors of social life,has relation with other factors both in local and countrywide scale. Recent changes in daily life has generated a demand for time, comfort, safety and economy. The railway transportation's security, speed and its importance in industrial and economic growth make it worthy enough to be highly respected lately.Rapid movement of railway transportation in the world and new applications for signalling and electrification have increased the value of railway transportation when compared in the past. The stuff undertaking vital roles in railway transportation and  their being equipped with modern applications have been considered as one of the most important problems of the country. Also,the development in the construction of subways has focused the importance of labor for ones interested in this field. Railroad Machine Technology program in the Vocational School of Transportation aims at growing up man who have high responsibility, a sense of concious and can take part in railway transportation.The general directorate of TCDD has stated that they would provide every support for education on the basis of a protocol signed between Eskişehir Technical University and the general directorate of TCDD.

Qualification Awarded
The students who successfully complete the programme are awarded Associate’s Degree in Railroad Machine Technology program
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to first cycle degree programmes in or a related field of the study and gain access to these programmes through a centralised, nation-wide Vertical Transfer Examination (Dikey Geçiş Sınavı).
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of associate's degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum (120 ECTS)
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00
-a 30 workday (8 ECTS) industrial training education
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students graduated from Railroad Machine Technology program,according to the qualifications they have gained, are employed in organizations and institutions in the railway sector such as TCDD, Tülomsaş, Estram, Burulaş, İzmir Metro A.Ş.
Assessment and Grading
A variety of assessment methods such as mid-term(s), assignment(s), exercise(s), project(s), practice(s), and a final exam are implemented in the programme. Assessment methods may include classical test(s), multiple-choice test(s), homework(s), performance evaluation(s), and product evaluation(s). In order to graduate from the programme, cumulative GPA must be minimum 2.00. A course grade is constituted by evaluating the above stated elements and given by using letters.
