About Programme

The department of Politicial Science and Public Administration aims to train students who have the necessary theoretical knowledge and have the ability to use them in practical, to evaluate the government units with the dimensions of legal, political, economical, social and organizational, to be aware of the problems and find solutions to them. In addition, the department has the following objectives:


1)to train individuals who have the basic knowledge about the public administration discipline of social sciences,


2)to train students who have the formation to approach social problems in terms of social sciences,

3)to train specialists in concerned domains who have the professional competence.

History
In our Faculty lectures given in 135 peopled amphitheaters and classes.In areas such as Canteen, conference hall, sports hall, dining hall is available for social life. The housing needs of students provided by the dormitory of YURT-KUR with a capacity of 220 girls and 220 boys and the dormitory of TOKİ with the capacity of 1054 male and 374 female students.
Qualification Awarded
Qualification Awarded Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor Degree (BA) in Social Work.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Bachelor’s Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from the Politicial Science and Public Administration program can work at government institutions,private sector enterprises, local authorities as a specialist, manager,researcher and administrative staff.
Assessment and Grading
The success grade in a course is formed as a result of the joint evaluation of the student's activities and/or exams during the year. Measurement and evaluation are primarily made according to the Relative Evaluation System. In cases where the Relative Evaluation System conditions are not met, the evaluation is made according to the Absolute Evaluation System.
