About Programme
Goals: The aim of the Bachelor’s programme in the department of Economics is to supply students with theoretical and historical knowledge of economics strengthened with the knowledge of other social sciences and language skills for their success in both academic life and professional life.

Objectives: The objective of the programme is to enrich students’ knowledge of economics through theoretical and historical teaching as well as through contemporary critical and interdisciplinary approaches, together with the attempt to make better their reading, writing, thinking and critical skills through all the teaching and learning activities.

History
In our Faculty, lectures given in 135 peopled amphitheaters and classes.In areas such as Canteen, conference hall, sports hall, dining hall is available for social life. The housing needs of students provided by the dormitory of YURT-KUR with a capacity of 220 girls and 220 boys and the dormitory of TOKI with the capacity of 1054 male and 374 female students.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Economics.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
The students who study in the Economics programme are required to fulfill the following graduation requirements in order to get the Bachelor’s Degree:

• The students must pass all the credited courses with at least a letter grade DC (Conditional Pass), together with non-credited courses with at least the letter grade G.

• They must obtain a total of 240 ECTS Credits.

• They must achieve a Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from department of Economics can work in the following institutions: Foreign Affairs, Finance, and so on, and also such as ministries, the Prime Ministry, Parliament, the Court, the Central Bank, BRSA, many upper assembly, the Istanbul Stock Exchange, the public and private banks, specialized banks, specialist assistant, can be employed as an auditor.
Assessment and Grading
It is carried out following the conditions in the Regulation of Karabuk University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education-Training and Examination and Karabuk University the Principles of Measurement and Evaluation.
