About Programme
|
Department of Mechanical Engineering started teaching as a part of Faculty of Engineering at Karabuk University in 2008. From this year, 30% English formal education program has been carried out. In 2009, 30% English secondary education program; in 2010, 100% English formal and secondary education programs were implemented in the department. Currently, 30% English and 100% English formal programs accept students for undergraduate education. Besides these undergraduate programs, the department has three graduate programs at the Graduate School of Education, namely M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, M.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering (English) and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engieering.

Karabuk University, Department of Mechanical Engineering started teaching as a part of Faculty of Engineering at Karabuk University in 2008. Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
|
Graduation Requirements
|
The student must complete 4 years of study acquiring 240 (ECTS) credits. This degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all courses in the curriculum, 8 weeks of internship, Graduation Project and have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.00 / 4.00 and no failing grades. The student must also succeed one elective course both from the thermal design and the mechanical design elective course groups.

Students who graduate from this programme may work in both public and private sectors such as highways, DSI, MKEK, TCDD, TULOMSAS, TUVASAS, Metropolitan Municipalities, etc.
