About Programme
Goals:

The aim of the Bachelor’s programme in the department of International Relations is to supply students with theoretical and historical knowledge of international relations strengthened with the knowledge of other social sciences and language skills for their success in both academic life and professional life.

Objectives:

The objective of the programme is to enrich students’ knowledge of international relations through theoretical and historical teaching as well as through contemporary critical and interdisciplinary approaches, together with the attempt to make better their reading, writing, thinking and critical skills through all the teaching and learning activities.

History
In our Faculty, lectures given in 135 peopled amphitheaters and classes.In areas such as Canteen, conference hall, sports hall, dining hall is available for social life. The housing needs of students provided by the dormitory of YURT-KUR with a capacity of 220 girls and 220 boys and the dormitory of TOKI with the capacity of 1054 male and 374 female students.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in International Relations.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Bachelor’s Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from the Department of International Relations are employed particularly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other governmental institutions beside to banks, unions, visual and printed media as well as various non-governmental and international organizations.
Assessment and Grading
The final exam affects the final exam at a rate of 40% and the final exam at a rate of 60%. However, these rates may change if requested by the instructor of the course.
