About Programme

Electrical - Electronics Engineering is a very comprehensive engineering branch. For this reason, the education program of the department has been planned to prepare it for the basic fields of Electrical - Electronics Engineering and to provide basic knowledge and skills in these fields.



Students enrolled in the department start their education in the department after successfully completing their English preparatory education or after being exempted. In the first 5 semesters of the curriculum, there are courses on basic sciences and main courses of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. These lessons are common to all students. In the 6th, 7th and 8th semesters, students can choose courses for the field they want to specialize in. In addition, students are required to do a 40-day summer internship and carry out a project related to Electrical and Electronics engineering in the last year.In the last year, students can optionally participate in "Workplace Training and Practice" for 1 semester.

History
Karabük University Electrical - Electronics Engineering Department was established in 2009. In the academic year 2010-2011, 30% English and 100% English programs I. and II. Undergraduate education has started, including teaching. Our undergraduate programs gave their first graduates at the end of the 2014-2015 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Those who successfully complete one-year English preparatory education and 4-year education are entitled to receive the Electrical-Electronics Engineer title by obtaining a BS degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:

(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.

For International Students:

(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order for students to successfully graduate from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering program and to receive a bachelor's degree, they must have passed all the courses specified in the curriculum, have a GPA of at least 2.00 and have completed their 40-day summer internship.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering can work as engineers, consultants and consultants in various sectors such as the public sector, defense and aviation sector, communication and media sector, health sector, energy and automotive sector, white goods and consumer electronics sector, software and information sector in Turkey and abroad. can work in managerial positions.
Assessment and Grading
Evaluation as a general rule; 1 midterm exam (40%) and 1 final exam (60%) per course. Courses can request additional assignments or midterm exams. Students receive a semester success grade according to the end-of-term average of a course as shown in the Karabük University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations.
