About Programme
The goals and objectives of the study in the programme of History aims:

* To give students knowledge and understanding in history

* To provide them with knowledge and experience about archives, library, museum and so on.

* To have students perform research and conduct analysis

* To enable students to develop ability to produce solutions to problems encountered in social life

* To improve their ability to carry out individual research.

History
There are two computer laboratories with the capacity of 100 students. Also, there are enough classrooms where the teaching is properly conducted. Moreover, there is a satisfactory number of the reference and critical books at the moment in the library, and the attempts to purchase more books continue. In addition to the books, the university has subcribed to e-journals and database such as JSTOR, whihc is a very useful sources for the students in the programme.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in History.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of Bachelor’s Degree, the student must complete
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.

Students who graduate from the programme of History may be employed in the following places:

* The Ministry of Turkish National Education

* The Ministry of Culture and Tourism

* Archive

* Turkish Historical Society

* Universities

* Other public institutions

* Private sectors
Assessment and Grading
The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the 'course teavhing plan' which is prepared by te relevant faculty member and included in the course information package. Related articles of Associate degree and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied for exams and course grades.
