The aim of the Actuarial and Risk Management Department is the actuarial scientists who are equipped with basic knowledge such as actuarial, statistics, mathematics, insurance, computer, finance, and social science knowledge such as sociology, psychology, philosophy, and who can use this information in every field of interest, and solve problems independently. train
History
Karabük University Graduate Education Institute Actuarial and Risk Management Department Actuarial and Risk Management Master's Program with Thesis opening date is February 2015. A total of 47 students are currently enrolled in the Actuarial and Risk Management Department's Master's program, which started education in the 2015-2016 Fall semester and accepted students.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.
For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree with thesis, a student must have completed
- All courses with minimum 60 credits,
- One seminar and pass its oral examination,
-A thesis and to defend it sucsessfully,
- Minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 (65/100) and 120 ECTS.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Actuarial and Risk Management Program can work in the insurance industry, public and private social security institutions, banks and investment firms. Actuarial scientists can take the title of actuary with signature authority if they fulfill the conditions stipulated by the Actuarial Regulation by taking national or international actuarial exams.

The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the "Course Teaching Plan" prepared by the relevant instructor / s and included in the information package.

Exams, evaluations and grading are done according to Karabük University Postgraduate Education Regulation.
