About Programme
The aim of the Music Department is to educate the students having professional sufficiency in their fields with international view. About music production, both theoretical and practical knowledge is given to the students to provide them making musical analysis ability. Furthermore, the required knowledge and ability for making music and coordinating the musical activities are gained to the students to get them finding jobs in private industries.
The graduated students who has a master degree without thesis can work as a music teacher in official and private schools which belong to the National Educational Ministry. Also our graduated students can work in the music industry.
Program ends at the end of the 8 semestre, and students obtain 240 credits as ECTS that are compulsory and elected course.

History
The Music Department was opened in the 2008-2009 Academic year. Turkish Folk Music and Turkish Classical Music were opened in the 2012-2013 Academic year. 4 year undergraduate education is given in our department. The curriculum has main vocational courses, basic vocational courses, auxiliary vocational courses, elective courses and common courses. Mehter, band, orchestra and solo concerts have performed in the Music Department. There are 3 main branches of art and 16 lecturers.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Music
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
The students who study in the programme must fulfil the following graduation requirements to get the Bachelor’s Degree:
-all courses in the curriculum,
-a minimum CGPA of 2.00/4.00 (50/100) and 240 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduated music stundents might be teacher and academicians at education institutions. They can also be performers, chorists and art consulants. Their art experinces could be used in government departments as well.
Assessment and Grading
There are midterm and final exams for 8 terms.
Effect of the midterm exams are 40%, final exams' is 60%.
Exams might be teorical or practical belong to the course.
