About Programme
The mission of this programme is to train researchers and academicians that can meet the demands of the tourism enterprises in  global tourism market, maintain competitive advantage, and that are competent in the fields of leadership, sustainability and target development.

History
Karabük University Social Science Institute Tourism Management Department has been founded in 2013. Currently, the department provides graduate education with two associate professors, and five assistant professors.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the necessary courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded Masters degree in Tourism Management.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.
For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree, a student must have complated
- 7 courses with minimum 21 local credits,
- One seminar and pass its oral examination,
- Submission of a M.Sc. Thesis and pass its oral examination,
- A minimum CGPA of 2.50/4.00 (65/100) and 120 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of our department may be employed as managers in the front bureau, housekeeping, service, kitchen, bar, purchasing, marketing, and human resources departments of the accommodations; reservation, operations, ticketing, and accounting departments of travel agents; ground services of the airlines; refreshment facilities, and recreation enterprises. They may also be employed in various public institutions such as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. If they wish, graduate students can also continue to study Doctor of Philosophy in the field.
Assessment and Grading
The master's program consists of at least seven courses, a seminar course and a thesis study, provided that it is not less than 21 credits in total. Seminar course and thesis work are non-credit and evaluated as successful or unsuccessful.
