About Programme
In the History of Art Master program, ourses are given in the fields of Turkish and Islamic Art, Western Art and Contemporary Art, Byzantine Arts and General Art History.

Art History Master program started to give education in 2014-2015 academic year.
Qualification Awarded
Graduate graduates receive the Master's degree / Expert Art Historian title.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.
For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree with thesis, a student must have completed
- All courses with minimum 30 ECTS - One seminar and pass its oral examination,
-A thesis and to defend it sucsessfully,
- Minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 (65/100) and 120 ECTS.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students with a master's degree in the Department of Art History can take part in various departments affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, especially in the Academy, art galleries, archaeological and art history excavations and formation schools.
Assessment and Grading
Exams consist of visa 40%, final 60% and homework. If a course has homework, visa and final evaluation scores may vary. This situation is covered in the course content.
