About Programme
The program educates artists who have expertise in the field of plastic arts, and are ready for the present-day art environment which turns to multi-disciplinary structure determined by the contemporary ruling of the media of painting art. While some required courses such as applied painting, drawing, theories of art, photography, wall painting, graphic, sculpture, printing techniques have been given to the students in the program, some elective and studio courses towards the ability and interest of the students are also offered at the program. Thus the program educates graduates who are capable of generating an optional solution towards their field, by means of their basic knowledge and special skills. Duration of the program is four years and the language of it is Turkish. After completing a four year BA degree, art graduates can choose to be a teacher or to have an academic career.

History
Painting Department, historical, cultural, artistic and world heritage city with rich tourist centers in Safranbolu direction from the 2007-2008 academic year continues to provide training with an experienced team since.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor of Arts Degree (BA) in Painting
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
(1) High School Diploma, (2) Placement through a centralised, nation-wide student selection and placement examination organized by Assessment, Selection and Placement Centre (ÖSYM). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on the centralized exam and high school grade point averages.
For International Students:
(1) High School Diploma and its "Certificate of Equivalency” granted by the Turkish Ministry of National Education (MoNE). (2) Exam for International Student (YÖS) or international university entrance examinations such as SAT I, ACT, etc., recognised by the national authority in higher education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK). Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their scores obtained from YÖS or equivalent exams.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.
Graduation Requirements
- The students must pass all the credited courses with at least a letter grade DD, together with non-credited courses with at least the letter grade G
- They must obtain a total of 240 ECTS Credits.
- They must achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 60 out of 100.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Students who graduate from the programme of painting can work as freelancer artist, as well as researchers in the field of art. Besides, upon receive pedagogical training certificate from faculties of eduation, they can work as art teachers. They can also work as art realisateur. Graduates also have the chance to work in self studios and manufacturies as designers. Provided that they meet the requirements of universities, they can also pursue an academic career in higher education institutes.
Assessment and Grading
There are midterm and final exams for 8 terms. Effect of the midterm exams are 40%, final exams' is 60%. Exams might be teorical or practical belong to the course.
