About Programme
Gastronomy and Culinary Arts program is an education program that aims to train qualified professionals for the food and beverage sector. This program covers topics such as gastronomy culture, world cuisines, food science, culinary techniques and business management. Students are provided with both theoretical and practical knowledge to improve their culinary skills. The program includes courses such as nutrition principles, food and beverage management, hygiene and sanitation, food safety. In addition, a broad perspective on local and international culinary cultures is provided. In addition to culinary techniques, food history and the artistic dimension of gastronomy are emphasized. The program encourages the development of skills such as creative thinking, menu planning, visual presentation and customer satisfaction. Graduates can work as executive chefs, menu consultants or kitchen managers in hotels, restaurants, catering companies and the food industry. The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts program is a dynamic and creative field that offers career opportunities both nationally and internationally.

History
Karabük University Safranbolu Tourism Faculty has started education as of the 2022 - 2023 Spring semester.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully complete all required courses in the curriculum are awarded the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Doctorate degree.
Admission Requirements
Universities; Having a master's degree in one of the Departments of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Food Engineering, Food Toxicology, Nutrition and Dietetics. Having received at least 70 points from the ALES exam and 50 points from the language exam. Having received at least 55 standard points in the score type of the program applied for in the ALES exam held centrally by ÖSYM. Applicants take a foreign language exam before evaluation. The evaluation of the foreign language and interviews of the candidates is made by juries consisting of at least three, five or at most seven members determined by the Institute Board of Directors upon the recommendation of the Department Board. The interview is evaluated out of 100 full marks and the candidate is given an interview grade. Candidates whose interview score is below 60 are considered unsuccessful.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate, it is necessary to complete at least 240 ECTS in total by completing 7 courses, 1 Seminar and Thesis writing process.
