About Programme
|
International Relations (IR) provides students an interdisciplinary background allowing a deeper understanding of contemporary
international issues. IR is an interdisciplinary undergraduate major focusing on the changing political, economic and cultural relations
within the international system of the modern era. The program explores how global, regional and domestic factors influence
relations between actors on the world stage. Students are equipped with both the foundational skills and specific knowledge necessary
to analyze the choices and challenges that arise in this arena.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens: First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages. For International Students: First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree with thesis, a student must have completed
- All courses with minimum 60 credits,
- One seminar and pass its oral examination,
-A thesis and to defend it sucsessfully,
- Minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 (65/100) and 120 ECTS.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Graduates of the Department of International Relations, who have completed their two-year master's education, can find the opportunity to work in the International Relations Departments of domestic and foreign universities, various research centers, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Assessment and Grading
The passing grade for the courses is 60. The written exam can take the form of a presentation or an assignment. In the master's program with thesis, the institute department/article board recommends a thesis advisor, who is in the staff of its own university, to the institute until the end of the first semester at the latest, and the thesis topic that the student determines together with his/her advisor to the institute until the end of the second semester at the latest. The thesis advisor and the thesis topic are finalized with the approval of the institute board of directors. The thesis advisor is selected from among the faculty members with the qualifications to be determined by the Senate. In the absence of a faculty member with the qualifications determined by the university, a faculty member from another higher education institution may be selected as a consultant by the institute board of directors within the framework of the principles determined by the Senate.
