The art history doctorate program has courses on Turkish Art, Western Art, Contemporary Art and Byzantine Arts. These lessons can also include regional art history developments.

Art History Doctorate program has been accepted to be opened with the application made in the 2019-2020 academic year. However, it has not yet accepted any students.

Students who complete the doctoral program receive a doctoral degree.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
Second Cycle (Master’s) Degree diploma with thesis, (2) A minimum ALES score of 55 or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. (3) A minimum score of 55 in accepted foreign language proficiency exams. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of second cycle degree grade point averages, ALES and foreign language exam.
For International Students:
Second Cycle Degree diploma with thesis obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their second cycle degree grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree with thesis, a student must have completed
- All courses with minimum 24 ECTS
- One seminar and pass its oral examination,
-A thesis and to defend it sucsessfully,
- Minimum GPA of 2.50/4.00 (65/100) and 240 ECTS.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Students with a doctorate degree in the Department of Art History can take part in various departments affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, especially in the Academy, art galleries, archaeological and art history excavations and formation schools.
|
Assessment and Grading
Exams consist of visa 40%, final 60% and homework. If a course has homework, visa and final evaluation scores may vary. This situation is covered in the course content.
