About Programme

History
Karabük University was established in the Official Gazette dated 29 May 2007 and numbered 5662, “The Law on the Amendment of the Decree in Higher Education Institutions and the Decree in the Decree Law on General Staff and Procedure”. .
While Zonguldak is affiliated with Karaelmas University; Continuing its educational activities in the province of Karabük; Technical Education Faculty, Faculty of Science and Letters, Safranbolu Fethi Toker Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, Faculty of Engineering, Safranbolu Vocational School, Vocational School and Health School were changed to Karabük University Rectorate by changing its name and connection and by establishing a Institute of Science and Social Sciences within the scope of this law. graduate and doctorate education has started.
Established in an economically and strategically effective region in the Western Black Sea Region, Karabük University has started education, training and research activities with 4 faculties, 1 college and 2 vocational schools, with 116 academic staff, 122 administrative staff and 4685 students.
Karabuk University aims to become one of the leading higher education institutions in the region and our country with its new units that it has added to the body and plans to add in the near future.
Our university currently continues its education and research activities with its 14 faculties, 4 institutes, 4 colleges, 7 vocational schools and 9 research centers, with 902 academic staff, 437 administrative staff and 42.472 students.

Students who successfully complete the programme are awarded an ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN ELDERLY CARE.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
Students who have received enough points in TYT 4 score type as a result of the exam conducted by the Higher Education Council Measurement, Selection and Placement Centre can enroll in the programme.
Students are also accepted to the programme through horizontal transfer.
These transitions are regulated by the directive and students can transfer between diploma programmes of different higher education institutions or different diploma programmes within the same higher education institution within the framework of the number and transition conditions announced in advance.

Graduation Requirements
The student must meet the following conditions in order to graduate from the ELDERLY CARE Associate Degree programme:
- to pass all courses in the curriculum with 120 ECTS credits
- Have a GPA of at least 2.00 out of 4.00
- Completion of 30 working days (8 ECTS credits) of summer internship.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates

This degree enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in or a related field of the study.

Assessment and Grading
Every student has to register at the start of the semestr and attend at least %70 of theoretical courses and %80 of applied courses in order to be able to take final exams.
Students have to take minumum 1-mid-term and 1 final exam is %60.Students are required to take at least 50 points from the final exam.İn order to gradute from a program.the student must have taken all the courses and complete them with the minumum 2:00 GPA score. To the ones who failed on those.
