Occupational Profiles of Graduates
Graduates of the Department of Metallurgical Materials Engineering, who have completed their four-year undergraduate education, can become engineers and managers in the fields of iron and steel, glass, plastic, etc., material production in the public sector and industry. In addition, since it was established in a region where metallurgical and material-related problems are widely observed, Karabuk University Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department carries out a curriculum in order to train expert engineers who can take a role in the production and operation of metallic and non-metallic materials and find solutions to the problems in this field.
Assessment and Grading
During the semester, a course is evaluated by midterm and general exams. Exams can be written, both written and oral, homework or practice. The exam program is applied by the deanship on the dates and at least two weeks before the exams, by announcing it on the relevant web pages and boards. It is decided by the Senate to take a make-up exam and open a summer school. If a decision regarding the make-up exam is not taken by the Senate, an excuse exam is held on the day announced by the deanship / directorate for the students who cannot take the general exam due to the excuse accepted by the decision of the relevant board of directors. If it is decided to make a make-up exam, a make-up exam is not opened for the general and make-up exams.

The success grade in a course is determined by evaluating the student's activities and exams during the year together. All activities, such as homework, projects, other than the midterm exam, are called Others and the result of the evaluation is entered as a separate grade in the automation system. The rate of contribution of these activities to the success grade is determined by the relevant instructor. If there is no activity in a course, the contribution rate of the midterm grade to the success grade is calculated as 40%. If it is decided to make the general exam and make-up exam, the contribution rate of the make-up exam grade is calculated as 60%.

In order for a course to be considered successful, the make-up exam grade should not be less than 50% of the full grade and the lesson of 50% of the full grade if the general exam is decided to be held.
