About Programme
The mechatronics engineering program has established its core vision as raising qualified engineers equipped with up-to-date technological knowledge who can successfully represent Türkiye in the international arena. In line with this goal, the educational process prepares students for a solid career path by providing them with the ability to apply fundamental mathematics, science, and engineering knowledge to complex mechatronics problems. Within the scope of the program, students gain the competence to design systems or processes by considering critical constraints such as economy, efficiency, environmental impact, and social benefit, while simultaneously raising their capabilities to model, analyze, and interpret results by designing experiments to a high level. This academic structure, which raises individuals capable of effectively using modern engineering tools and current computational technologies, ultimately aims to reach a world-class quality of education and certify this success with MÜDEK accreditation.

History
Our faculty was established under the name “Karabük Faculty of Engineering” on December 18, 2005, by the Council of Ministers Decision No. 2005/9744, as part of Zonguldak Karaelmas University.
Following the establishment of Karabük University by Law No. 5662 on May 29, 2007, the faculty was renamed “Karabük University Faculty of Engineering.”
The Department of Mechatronics Engineering began admitting students to its undergraduate program for the first time during the 2009–2010 academic year under this faculty.
With the inclusion of the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics in the faculty, the name of the faculty was changed to the “Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences” by the Presidential Decree No. 10073, dated July 13, 2025. The department continues its education and training activities under this faculty.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics Engineering
