About Programme
This program aims to improve the students knowledge and skill avocationally. In this program, students take the basic courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Psychology, Sociology in the first three years. Beside these courses they take some courses related to family life, Child development in different periods, Development of disabled children, physical and mental health of children. At the end of the third year students perform application in institutions such as health centers, centers for maternal and infant health, hospitals, pre-school institutions. In this context, our program aims to provide students application areas that they are able to use their knowledge craft knowledge; reinforce their knowledge by this way and these applications will provide a basis for their fourth year studies.

History
For our Child Development Department, there are 2 classrooms,child development research and practice center and Demir Çocuk Preschool in which the students can perform applications with in Karabük University.

Qualification Awarded
Students who enter the department of child development and successfully complete educational training receive a diploma with the title of Child Development Specialist at the bachelor's degree.

Admission Requirements
Student admission for this undergraduate program is carried out through the national University Student Placement Exam called OSYS according to the regulations made by the Higher Education Council of Turkey (YÖK). Students must take the university entrance exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM) in order to be accepted to this undergraduate program (4-year, first education). The exam consists of two stages. The first stage is the Higher Education Entrance Exam (YGS). Students must obtain at least 180 points out of 500 in order to take the second exam, called the Undergraduate Placement Exam (LYS). LYS, which is the second stage exam, is applied as 5 separate sessions. Students participate in the relevant exam according to their field of study.students who score at least 180 points out of 500 can choose the university and undergraduate program they want. Placement in this degree program is made by the Student Evaluation Selection and Placement Center according to the exam score and the scores taken from the general secondary education grade point average. After making the students' academic program preferences, OSYM places students in these programs according to the students' YGS scores.The program also accepts foreign students for undergraduate studies. Recently, foreign students have been given the right to choose academic programs of universities, but the admission criteria must be approved by the Higher Education Council (YÖK). Karabük University organizes a Foreign Student Exam (YOGS) every year. The exam is for application to undergraduate (first level) programs only. The first requirement for students who want to enter YOGS is that they are from a nationality other than Turkey (you can also apply it to students who have Turkish nationality and are in the last three years of secondary education abroad outside the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus). Secondly, it is necessary to be in the last year of secondary education or to have successfully completed secondary education. In addition to the YOGS score organized by Karabuk University every year, students are accepted to this undergraduate program according to the scores of one of the internationally recognized exams such as October 1, ABITUR. Exchange students Karabük University Students who apply to study at Karabük University as exchange students are accepted to Karabük University within the framework of the existing agreements between the universities.Dec. Exchange students can study for one or two semesters by taking the addresses offered in the educational program. The application procedure for exchange students is managed through the International Relations Office of Karabuk University. Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.

Graduation Requirements
A bachelor's degree is awarded to students who have successfully completed all the courses available in the undergraduate program (for a total of 240 ECTS), achieved at least a weighted GPA of 2.0 out of 4.00.

Assessment and Grading
Exams, evaluation and grading are carried out in accordance with Karabuk University Associate Degree, Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations. The method of measurement and evaluation applied for each course is explained in detail in the course descriptions.
