About Programme
The goals and objectives of the study in the programme of History aims:
* To give students knowledge and understanding in history
* To provide them with knowledge and experience about archives, library, museum and so on.
* To have students perform research and conduct analysis
* To enable students to develop ability to produce solutions to problems encountered in social life
* To improve their ability to carry out individual research.

History
Our History department, which started its education life with 40 students in the 2009-2010 academic year, offers 4 main programs, 2 undergraduate and 2 graduate programs, as listed below:
Licence: - Primary Education History Undergraduate Program - Evening Education History Undergraduate Program
Postgraduate: -History Master's Program -History PhD Program
The aim of our department is to train historians who can build bridges between the past and the future, integrate national and universal values, and have historical consciousness and the ability to approach events with scientific methods. With the training provided here, we try to ensure that our students acquire the ability to produce information and interpret this information with scientific methods in accordance with the requirements of historical science.
Our history department students are trained to become aware of the responsibility of being a "historian" through courses focusing on different subjects and periods.
Faculty members and assistants of the department conduct research that aims to contribute to the best education of our students and to reveal unknown points of both the region's and Turkish and world history. Academic studies continue in the departments of Ancient History, Medieval History, Modern History, Modern History, History of the Republic of Turkey and General Turkish History in the department; Historical issues are discussed with scientific methods in various events organized. Graduates of the Department of History can become researchers and experts in this field with the title of historian, as well as work in Turcology departments of universities abroad, Central Asia and Middle East Research Centers and Turkey Research Centers.

Qualification Awarded
|
Upon successful completion of all the courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded the Bachelor’s Degree in History.

Admission Requirements
Students who want to enroll in the department must complete the processes determined by ÖSYM (succeed in the relevant exams) in line with the academic and legal legislation of Karabük University. Turkish students are accepted to the History department based on the results of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM). Students who have started their education in an equivalent program at home or abroad have the right to apply for horizontal transfer. Acceptance of students is evaluated before the start of the semester, taking into account each student's conditions and the degree to which they have applied. After students make their academic program preferences, they are placed in these programs according to their YKS scores.
Karabük University organizes the Foreign International Student Examination (KBU-ULOS) every year. T.R. or any of their nationals who are not TRNC citizens or those who have dual citizenship rights are Turkish Republic. or those who are not TRNC are considered International Student status and are the first requirement for application. Other application conditions are as follows: 1) Provided that they are in their final year of high school or have graduated; a) Foreign nationals, b) Those who are Turkish citizens by birth and have received permission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs to renounce Turkish citizenship, and those who document that their minor children registered in the Turkish Citizenship Renunciation Document have a Document Regarding the Exercise of Recognized Rights received in accordance with the Turkish Citizenship Law (Article 7 of the Turkish Citizenship Law No. 5901, " (1) A child born to a Turkish citizen mother or father in marriage within or outside Turkey is a Turkish citizen." c) While a foreign national, with citizenship acquired later, Turkish Republic. Those who have acquired citizenship/dual nationals in this situation d) T.R. Those who are nationals and completed their entire secondary education in a foreign country other than TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education in Turkish schools in a foreign country other than TRNC) e) is a TRNC national; Applications are accepted from those who reside in TRNC and have completed their secondary education in TRNC and have GCE, AL exam results, and those who have or will have GCE AL exam results by registering and studying at colleges and high schools in other countries between 2005-2010.

Exchange students: Students who apply to study at Karabük University as exchange students are accepted to Karabük University within the framework of the existing agreements between the universities. Exchange students can take the addresses offered in the training program and study for one or two semesters. The application procedure for exchange students is managed through Karabük University International Relations Coordination Office.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to second cycle degree or directly to integrated third cycle (doctorate) programmes.

Graduation Requirements
In order to graduate from the History undergraduate program, students must pass all the courses specified in the program curriculum by taking a minimum of 240 ECTS. Have a GPA of 2.5 out of 4.00. A completion project needs to be implemented and successfully maintained

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
Our graduates; They can be employed as experts in relevant units of public and private institutions, including the General Directorate of State Archives and the General Directorate of Foundations. In addition, our graduates who can work in private teaching institutions can work as history teachers in schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education by completing their pedagogical formation.

Assessment and Grading
|
The rates and evaluation methods applied for each course are available in the 'course teaching plan' included in the courses and information package prepared by the faculty members. Regarding exams and course success grades, articles related to associate and undergraduate education and exam management are applied.
