About Programme

Bölümün amacı modern araştırma teknikleri kullanarak karşılaştırmalı tarih anlayışıyla, öğrencilerin donanımlı, çağdaş bilgiye sahip bunun yanında çeşitli mekânsal teknikler hakkında bilgi sahibi bilim insanları yetiştirmektir. Bu çerçevede,  
A) Çağdaş coğrafi düşünce ve araştırma yöntemleri kullanarak ulusal ve uluslararası boyutta mekansal sorunlara çözüm yolları arayacak 

B) Bu sorunlara dair yenilikçi çözüm yöntemleri geliştirecek 

C) Bilimsel araştırma sürecini özümseyip güncel araştırma konularında farkındalığa sahip olacak 

D) Geliştirdikleri yetenekler doğrultusunda bilimsel literatüre katkıda bulunacak bireyler yetiştirmektir

Tarih boyunca Türk tarihi ve Türk tarihi ile bağlantısı olan toplumların siyasal, iktisadi, sosyal ve kültürel yönlerinin modern sosyal bilim metodolojisine uygun bir şekilde öğretilmesi ve öğrencilere bu metodolojiyi kullanabilecek donanımlar kazandırılmasıdır. Bu donanım vasıtasıyla Tarih öğrencilerini ilgi duydukları alanlarda en verimli şekilde araştırma yapabilecek yeterlilikte yetiştirmektir.

History
The establishment of the History Department within the Faculty of Letters of Karabuk University dates back to 2009. The department started admitting students in the 2010-2011 academic year and now has more than 50 students. History Department the history department has got 4 professors 3 associate professors 3 assist prof and 6 research assistants.The department focuses on the ancient to modern history of the world Ottoman medieval anatolian and europe are major topics of teaching and active research.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
Second Cycle (Master’s) Degree diploma with thesis, (2) A minimum ALES score of 55 or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. (3) A minimum score of 55 in accepted foreign language proficiency exams. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of second cycle degree grade point averages, ALES and foreign language exam.
For International Students:
Second Cycle Degree diploma with thesis obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their second cycle degree grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
The student who completes the total credits determined by the institute from the courses included in the education and training plan, is entitled to graduate if she is found successful in the evaluation made by the thesis jury after the thesis preparation process.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
History graduates who have completed their doctorate education are graduated from Turkology Departments of the universities in Turkey and abroad, Central Asia and Middle East Research Centers and Turkey Research Centers. they can work and they can be interested in academic community, teaching, counseling.
Assessment and Grading
The measurement and evaluation methods applied for each course are defined in the 'course teavhing plan' which is prepared by te relevant faculty member and included in the course information package. Related articles of graduate and Undergraduate Education and Examination Regulations are applied for exams and course grades.
