About Programme
To gain original, independent and critical thinking, doing independent research, analyzing scientific problems, determine new methods to improve his/her knowledge. History
In 2012, it started education activities in the Department of Forest Industry Engineering. There are two application (workshop) laboratories and two research (Physics and Mechanics) laboratories in the Department of Forest Industry Engineering. Our laboratories; Wood Physics Laboratory, Wood Mechanics Laboratory

Students who successfully complete the program are awarded the Forest Industrial Engineering doctoral degree

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens: Second Cycle (Master’s) Degree diploma with thesis, (2) A minimum ALES score of 55 or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. (3) A minimum score of 55 in accepted foreign language proficiency exams. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of second cycle degree grade point averages, ALES and foreign language exam.
For International Students: Second Cycle Degree diploma with thesis obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their second cycle degree grade point averages.

Graduation Requirements
1) Having successfully taught at least 7 courses in two semesters, with no less than 21 credits. 2) Successfully delivering the doctoral seminar. 3) Successfully passing the doctoral qualifying exam. 4) Successfully pass the doctoral thesis proposal exam. 5) Successful completion of the doctoral thesis within the specified period.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
The graduates of the forest industrial engineering department has many opportunities of employment in a varitey of state and private companies. The program's interdisciplinary nature allows graduates to pursue careers in areas such as material processing, wood finishing, product design, quality control, sales and marketing of forest products industry.

Assessment and Grading
(1) Success grade is calculated by taking 40% of midterm exam grade and 60% of final exam grade. (2) In order for a course to be considered successful, both the final exam grade and the success grade must be at least 70 out of 100 at the doctoral level. (3) Seminar course, field of specialization, qualification course, thesis work are evaluated as pass (G) or fail (K). (4) A student can take another course instead of a course he failed.
One of the following letter grades is given to the student according to the success grade evaluation result: ASSESSMENT DOCTORATE Score Letter grade Coefficient 90-100 AA 4.00 80-89 BA 3.50 70-79 BB 3.00 65-69 CB - In addition, the following letters are used for evaluations outside the letter grades in the table: G: (Pass) In a non-credit course, it is given to a student who is successful by fulfilling the requirements of the course. K: (Remains) Given to a student who fails to fulfill the requirements of the course in a non-credit course. F1: It is given to the student who does not fulfill the attendance requirement, the student does not have the right to take the exam / exams. F2: It is given to students who do not take the exam F3: Given to students who take the exam but fail.
