About Programme
|
The
students use gained knowledge about design, manufacturing, automation, molding,
material science, and machine design in a theoretical and experimental project,
create the new approaches, develop novel strategical approaches in complex situations
and solve those, have the competence to teach and supervise scientific and
ethical values by having the researching, accessing and evaluating the
knowledge skills in Industrial Design Engineering Master Degree Program.

History
|
The educational activities of Master Degree programme started in 1998 as the Machine Education department of the Zonguldak Karaelmas University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. In 2007, Karabük University was established and the Department of Machine Education continued education at Karabük University. Since 2009, the department has continued graduate education as Industrial Design Engineering at Karabük University.

Qualification Awarded
|
Upon successful completion of all the necessary and elective courses in the curriculum, passing M.Sc. thesis defence exam and seminar, the students are awarded as Master's Degree in Industrial Design Engineering field.

Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.
For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.

Higher Grade Transition
|
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
|
Graduation Requirements
The students who study in the programme are required to fulfill the following graduation requirements in order to get the Master of Science (MSc) Degree;
• The students must pass all the credited courses with at least a letter grade CB, together with non-credited courses with at least the letter grade G.
• They must obtain a total of 120 ECTS Credits.
• They must achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 65 out of 100 or of at least 2.50 out of 4.00.
• They must be successful in their seminars.
• They must prepare the MSc thesis and defend it successfully.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
|
This degree is an academically oriented degree and enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in or a related field of study and/or in research.

Assessment and Grading
|
Exams for credit courses at the Department of Industrial Design Engineering are carried out as midterm, final and make-up exams. In determining the passing grade, 40% of the midterm exam is calculated by taking 60% of the final grade. In addition to the exams, the course can be used to determine the grade of success in the activities such as homework, project and practice according to the decision of the instructors.
