About Programme

As the Environmental Engineering Department, our aim is to train environmental engineers who can produce ideas for the solution of environmental problems; manage and apply quality systems; provide consultancy for environmental applications; prepare an "Environmental Impact Assessment Report"; work in waste disposal facilities; manage studies on air quality control; implement the legislation related to environmental protection; conduct academic research; produce projects or take part in existing projects in the prevention of environmental pollution; and provide coordination in joint studies by collaborating with other disciplines.



In order to achieve our aim, the goal of the “Environmental Engineering Graduate Program” is to provide undergraduate graduates with the following characteristics by offering a comprehensive and functional undergraduate education that conveys basic and up-to-date information in the field of environmental engineering:




  1. To have general and specific knowledge of basic mathematics, science, natural sciences, ecology, basic engineering, applied engineering, computer, foreign language, economics, environmental law, sustainable development, design, and project necessary for a professional career in environmental engineering.

  2. To gain the scientific basic knowledge required for practice and research in the field of environmental engineering as a professional; to have the knowledge and skills of studying, experimenting and applying; to be able to analyze, synthesize and design.

  3. Ability to use existing technologies and to produce new technologies.

  4. Ability to design, development and innovation experience in the basic subjects of environmental engineering;

  5. To be competitive in the national and international arena, equipped with contemporary knowledge, and therefore to be preferred in their own business areas.

  6. To work to ensure sustainable development and clean production conditions.

  7. To adopt lifelong learning and development in professional fields.

  8. To be able to actively participate in local, national and international organizations operating in a way to follow professional developments in the field of environmental engineering, to have an entrepreneurial spirit.

  9. To have design experience and problem-solving skills in environmental engineering and capability to develop alternative systems and to choose and apply the safest, most effective, most environmentally friendly, most aesthetic and economical option among them.

  10. To be an individual who is successful in written and verbal communication, can express himself in the best way, stands out in his own sector, and has high persuasion ability and self-confidence.

  11. To be able to adapt to interdisciplinary working environments; to be able to produce solutions by cooperating with stakeholders for reaching professional solutions.

History
Our master program started in 2015.
Qualification Awarded
Students studying in this program; min 21 local credits 7 courses, a seminar course and a thesis, all courses must be successful with a minimum of CB degree, 90-120 ECTS credits and must have at least 2.50 / 4.00 Grade Point Average.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.

For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree, a student must have completed
- 7 courses with minimum 21 local credits,
- one seminar and pass its oral examination,
- submission of a M.Sc. Thesis and pass its oral examination,
- 120 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
This degree is an academically oriented degree and enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in or a related field of study and/or in research.
Assessment and Grading
(1) The student is required to attend at least 70% of the course.

(2) At least two success measurements are made for each course within a semester. At the discretion of the instructor, at least one of them must be in the form of a written exam. In case of a single exam, the other evaluation can be done in the form of homework, project, laboratory report or similar application work.
