About Programme
This program is aimed to apply obtained architecture education to architectural problems with a critical point of view and have capability of carrying the advanced studies. It is also goal of the program that these studies should be multi-layered and related with architectural theories.

The objectives of this program are;
A)to transfer current architectural developments and own works to the field and out of the field groups by using written, verbal and visual methods systematically


B)to develop and apply information in the same field or diverse specialization fields in attach to obtained qualifications from undergraduate architecture education


C) to use specific theoretical and practical information gained in architecture discipline


D) to evaluate architectural problems with a critical point of view, to lead learning process and to have capability of carrying the advanced studies by oneself

History
The Department of Architecture was established in Safranbolu District of Karabük Province in 2002 within the Safranbolu Fethi Toker Faculty of Fine Arts and Design affiliated with Zonguldak Karaelmas University. With the establishment of Karabük University in 2007, the undergraduate program was affiliated with this university. Architectural education and training, which first started in the Safranbolu Historical Hospital Building, continued in 2010 in the buildings in Göztepe Campus in Safranbolu; After 2013, it was continued in the Central Classroom building on Karabük University Demir Çelik Campus. After 2015, the new faculty building in Safranbolu was moved and this building is still used today. Since 2011, the master's program has become active and student recruitment has started.
Qualification Awarded
Upon successful completion of all the necessary courses in the curriculum, the students are awarded Master s Degree in Architecture.
Admission Requirements
For Turkish Citizens:
First Cycle (Bachelor's) Degree diploma, (2) A minimum score of 55 in the Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) or equivalent international examinations scores for graduate-level programmes such as GRE, GMAT, etc., recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their composite scores consisting of the scores on ALES and first cycle degree grade point averages.

For International Students:
First Cycle Degree diploma obtained from universities recognised by YÖK. Candidates gain access to the programmes based on their first cycle degree grade point averages.
Higher Grade Transition
Upon successful completion of this programme, students may apply to third cycle programmes.
Graduation Requirements
In order to qualify for the award of a Master’s Degree, a student must have completed
- 7 courses with minimum 21 local credits,
- one seminar and pass its oral examination,
- submission of a M.Sc. Thesis and pass its oral examination,
-120 ECTS and no failing grades.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
This degree is an academically oriented degree and enables the graduate to exercise his/her profession in or a related field of study and/or in research.
